Stay hydrated: Runners tend to be very conscience about being hydrated during the heat of summer, but it is crucial to remain hydrated during winter as well.
Dark sunglasses: Not only will your shades look cool but they will help reduce the snow glare.
Bring a friend: Running with one of your mates is a good idea especially in bad weather conditions. Running be yourself all winter long can become a monotonous chore, but run with a mate or two and it becomes an adventure!
Start your run into the wind: This way you won't become over heated then turn back into the wind with your clothes wet with sweaty. You will finish with the wind to your back and this also helps give you something to look forward to while fighting the blistering wind!
Layer properly: A base layer of snug, wicking material, such as polypropylene, polyester, Thermax, this will help you to stay dry to some extent. Depending on the temperature a middle and outer layer may be necessary. If temperatures are extreme an outlayer to block the wind and allow moisture to escape such as Gore-Tex is advisable.
